The process
How Borgoway Works
Everything organized. Nothing left to chance.
Steps
Tell Us Your Walk
Share your chosen route, approximate dates, group size, and how much support you want. There's no commitment at this stage — just a conversation.
We Plan Every Detail
We confirm accommodation availability, arrange luggage transfers, book dinners, and sort any logistics along the route. You receive a complete proposal with a clear cost breakdown.
You Walk
Arrive knowing everything is taken care of. Stage notes, accommodation contacts, and emergency support are all in your briefing pack. We're reachable throughout your walk if anything changes.
What we take care of
Accommodation research
We know the route and the accommodation options. We select what's open, bookable, and genuinely good — not just whatever's on a generic booking site.
All bookings confirmed
Every night is confirmed in advance, with your name and arrival details communicated to each host in Italian.
Luggage transfer logistics
Coordinating daily bag transfers between stages requires local contacts and careful timing. We handle all of it.
Language barrier removed
From the initial booking call to the morning you leave each accommodation, you never need to speak Italian unless you want to.
Emergency support
You have our direct number throughout your walk. If a host has an issue, a stage is flooded, or anything changes — we sort it.
Practical stage notes
GPS-verified itinerary, water sources, timing markers, and backup options for each stage. Written for non-Italian walkers.
Common questions
How does payment work?
Once you accept a proposal, we collect a deposit to confirm your booking. The balance is due closer to your departure date. We'll detail exact payment terms in your proposal.
What's your cancellation policy?
Plans change. We offer flexible cancellation terms — the specifics depend on how close to your travel dates you cancel and what's already been booked. Full terms are provided in your booking confirmation.
I don't speak Italian. Will that be a problem?
Not at all. We handle all communication with accommodation providers, restaurants, and local services on your behalf. Every document and instruction we give you is in English.
What exactly is included in each tier?
Base covers itinerary design and accommodation booking for every stage. Standard adds daily luggage transfer between stages, dinner reservations, and start/end city transfers. Premium upgrades to boutique accommodation, adds a welcome kit with printed route notes and maps, and includes a local guide for 1–2 key stages.
How do I know if a route is suitable for my fitness level?
Each route page includes a difficulty rating with a detailed description, and every stage shows distance, elevation gain, and estimated walking time. If you're unsure, mention your fitness level and any relevant experience when you contact us — we'll give you an honest assessment.
How far in advance should I book?
For peak season (May–June, September–October), we recommend at least 3–4 months in advance, particularly for the more popular stages of the Via degli Dei where accommodation is limited. Off-season dates are more flexible.
